Education World – This site
boasts that it’s “the educator’s best friend.”
After surfing this site for a long time, I would say the saying
fits. This amazing online resource
offers an abundant collection of ideas for K-12 lesson plans, projects,
activities, and games in a large variety of subject areas. Plans may be browsed by
subject or grade and the site claims a searchable database of over 500,
ooo websites. Their site’s Teacher Lesson Plans Collection contains lesson

– A
great site for elementary school teachers.
Provides lesson plans, activities, and printable worksheets for
elementary school classrooms. This site’s
collection of information is free but registration is required. Easy to navigate and great for lesson plans,

Discovery Education
– This
site is the web companion to TV’s the Discovery
Channel and uses the saying, “the Thrill of Discovery in Your Classroom.” The
site’s search engine provides easy access to plentiful online resources for
grades K-12. The Lesson Plan Library
offers hundreds of original lesson plans, all written by teachers
for teachers. These can be searched easily by grade and cover all
curriculum areas. As a companion to lesson plans, the Puzzlemaker is
incredible. TV show scheduling and
lesson plan links to shows are also available.

Stuff – This site offers a variety of online teacher
resources for grades pre-K-12. Easy to find original lesson plans, thematic
units, and theme resources, tips, and more.
The theme site section is displayed in chart
form and includes many unique theme ideas.
Lesson Plan section provides over 175 original lessons written and
submitted by teachers. These can be
browsed by grade level, new lesson plans, all plans or by contributors. A search engine also offers access to over
3,500 more lesson plans. Also easily
navigated by subject area and grade categories – this site is well worth the

Teachers.Net – As of today,
this site features 4,287 free lesson plans written and submitted by teachers. A
wide variety of lesson plans can be browsed by category, grade level, and
keyword. This site also provides interesting ideas for classroom projects, and

The Teacher's Corner - Another great online resource for teachers. I found this site one of the easiest to
navigate. Lesson plans and activities
are searched by subject, themes, and seasonal items. Search results indicate
grade level and source on site or link location. Large
