Comparing Pennsylvania and California

After reading two websites, students will compare Pennsylvania and California, by completing a chart.

Step1: Read the following two websites, by clicking on each map. Using your computer skills open each site on a separate window.

Step 2: After reading the sites complete the chart on the next page!

Step 3: After completing the chart answer the following questions.

•Which state is the largest?

•Which of the two states are surrounded by more neighboring states?

•Using the information gathered, would you prefer to stay in Pennsylvania or would you prefer to move to California? Why?

•How do you think each state got its nickname?

•Using all the information you gathered, write a short paragraph comparing the two states. You may also add information you learned that is not on this chart.
