I, _______________________, agree to the following terms for using the internet while in school:

1. I will only use the internet for school related work and projects.

2. I will only use the internet under a teacher’s supervision and guidance.

3. I will contact the teacher immediately if any problem arises while using the internet.

4. I understand that using the internet to play games, email and chat is prohibited, unless otherwise stated by the teacher.

5. I will not use my real name, home address, phone number, school name or school address while on the internet. I will also not use the names and information of any of my classmates or family members.

6. If a message appears that makes me feel uncomfortable or scared, I will contact the teacher immediately and turn off the monitor.

7. I will not use the internet to:

a. Bully others.

b. Commit crimes.

c. Send obscene or offensive messages to anyone.

d. Respond to obscene or offensive messages.

e. Invade another person’s computer files.

f. Damage another person’s server or web connections.

g. View pornographic material online.

h. Download any material not approved by the teacher.

8. I understand that any damage I cause to a computer through misuse or neglect may result in fines that my parents must pay.

9. I will respect the computer, the internet and the other people in the class.
