Modifications for Physical Disabilities

 

Provide student with adequate time to complete desired tasks.

 

Provide alternative access to the computer.

Provide adequate access to computer from wheelchair level.

 

For students with difficulty taking notes, provide notes on internet, PowerPoint or word for student access.

 

Utilize Microsoft Accessibility Options for sticky keys or toggle switch.

 

Provide for alternate typing

Purchase word prediction software to assist with writing assignments.

 

Allow for student to use computer for all written assignments in class.

 

Provide for books ect.. on CD ROM for students who can’t use their hands to  access this information.

 

Modifications for Visual Impairments

 

Use on-screen magnifier.

 

Set up information with enlarged print.

 

Choose activities with a high contrast background.

 

Use Braille translator to print on screen information into Braille as appropriate.

 

Allow students increased time to complete required tasks.
