This is an
annotated list of online collaborative projects which could be used with adult
learners in an occupational therapy curriculum.
This
is an online collaborative project that looks at human anatomy. The students are required to participate in several
online discussions regarding a variety of topics related to human anatomy. This site is designed for the adult

site provides information on genetics in a collaborative format. Although this site is designed for the
younger learner, it can be used by the adult learner as a fun review of

world. For the adult learner, this site
offers information on the various cultures that our students might come in
contact with. I think that this site
provides the students with information which may be helpful in the healthcare

site offers a collaborative project on teen health issues crossing cultural
boundaries. This can be used in the
healthcare education area during the adolescent unit. This site could be helpful in identifying and
collaborating answers for teen health issues.

This
project, although designed for the younger student, is a great way for students
to learn about the effectiveness of their written communication. Using this project, students have the
opportunity to identify how they can improve their communication skills to

Project Harmony – Social
Justice
This
collaborative project teaches students about issues related to social justice,
and how this is applied on a personal and community level. This is appropriate for the health care field
in that these students are faced with issues related to social justice with
their potential patient populations.
This course uses online discussions as well as in class time to address

This
project looks at first impressions and judgments and educates students on how
these can promote conflict. Students are
taught how to identify and overcome these prejudices to promote healthy
management of people from other cultures.

– Communication with Cultures
This
site is an international online project designed to promote communication with
people from different cultures. This
site is great for occupational therapy students as it provides them the

This
site is a collaborative project in which students from around the world share
the culture of their specific area. This
is a great way to familiarize students with other cultures relating to
educational issues and trends. Date

site provides a comparison of students daily activities with those of teens in
underdeveloped countries. Although this is
designed for younger students, it is felt to be appropriate for the
occupational therapy students due to the focus on daily activities. This may provide some enlightening
