Egyptian Art

As we begin our unit on Egyptian Art, we need to understand the area of Egypt where artwork was being produced and where the artwork was later discovered. Before studying the work itself and where specific pieces of artwork were found, we should explore the area of ancient Egypt that were significant to the development of the Egyptian culture and its people.

As we have learned in the past, artwork always mirrors places and people and reflects a culture’s history and development.

Click on the image of Africa above to go to a site with a map of Egypt and follow the instructions below to collect information while at the next site.

1. When you arrive at the site with the map of Egypt look it over carefully and draw a thumbnail sketch in your artbooks of the shape and places of ancient Egypt

2. Click on each of the 11 places on the map and write 2 facts from each of the 11 areas in your artbook. Your Response should look like this:
