Dear Parents/and or Guardians:

Your child’s computer safety is very important to us.  In this age of internet communications, we all need to be diligent in our quest for safe access to the learning possibilities the internet has to offer. What is our school doing to keep your child safe during computer use?

  • Extensive blocking devices are installed to keep offensive material from appearing
  • Bookmarking only acceptable search engines for student use such as Yahooligans, AOL Kids, KidsClick, Kinderstart, Cyber Patrol Cyberguide, Thinkquest Library, Ask Jeeves for Kids, Berit’s Best Sites, Quality Search Engine, and Awesome Library
  • Training students and staff of “Acceptable Use Policy” guidelines
  • Providing adult supervision

What is your child’s teacher doing to keep your child computer safe?

Please find attached the “Computer Use Agreement” for your child.  This agreement is necessary for your child to have permission to use the computers at Damascus Elementary.  You and your child should sign and date the form and return it to school as soon as possible.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
