OBJECTIVES
Students will be familiar with Kid Safe
Portals on the internet.
Students will be able to
create a guide for parents and teachers explaining what sites are safe to navigate
with their children.
INTRODUCTION
The internet is loaded with information
for children and adults
alike. Although this resource is useful to enhance
classroom
instruction, letting
children surf the net freely is a recipe for
disaster. There is a lot on the internet that children don’t
need to be exposed to. Parents and
educators need to know what sites are safe for their children and students to
view.
ACTIVITY
·
Visit the website Kid Portals: Safe
Playgrounds for Kids and familiarize yourself with the three different
portals they review.
