Games
Online
Up to this point the only games I had
played on the computer were Solitaire, Freecell or Minesweeper that are
downloaded on most computers when they are purchased. I always enjoyed playing these games and
could end up spending hours just clicking the mouse. That was until I tried to play games online…
This is a dangerous feature that Yahoo
offers. I didn’t realize how fun it was
to play different games with other people.
I decided to try my hand (pardon the pun) at Hearts, and I think that
there are a few users that wish I hadn’t.
I’m not the best card player there is and I drove a couple of users away
from my table when I first started playing.
But I continued to play and I think I became a better player after a
while. It’s interesting to see the moves
that other users make because it taught me to develop different strategies in
my card play.
These games can become addicting
easily. I found myself competitive and
mistakenly confident after a random good hand.
Sure, I can “shoot the moon”…let me get all of the hearts…yeah, I’ll
take that trick…looks good…wait a minute, how did that player take that
trick…o.k. now I’ve just got too many points!
Time to quit?
Nope. Now I see what I have to do
to win. I’ll just do better next hand or
the hand after that or the hand after that – see where this is going?! Matter of fact, all this reflection makes me
want to try my skills once again. I apologize in advance to those who are
currently playing.
