Part 2

This activity is designed for middle school physical education students learning the fundamentals of basketball. This activity can be done in class or at home as a homework assignment. Students will learn a fundamental skill of basketball and they will be asked

to demonstrate and explain it.

1. Visit the following the site and watch the video about “The Box:”

2. Write down on a piece of paper why “the box” is so important in the game of basketball.

3. Either draw a picture with your explanation of where “the box” is located or be prepared to show me in class.

4. In class, we will practice protecting the ball and keeping it out of “the box”
