Free Clip Art Sites

 

The following clip art sites are some of my favorites. These sites are student-appropriate, and are easy to navigate. I selected sites that had a good variety of images, or uniqueness about them.

 

Microsoft Office Online

This site contains a huge number of clip art images, including photos, illustrations, and animated gifs. The site has an excellent selection of images from multiple categories. It also has a search option if you're looking for something specific. Images appropriate for all ages.

Barry's Clip Art Server

This site houses a number of different clip art categories, including an educational one.  The images are colorful and appropriate for children of all ages. The site also includes a color chooser, with hex codes for a selected color.

School Clip Art

This site contains clip art from a number of categories, including teachers and schools, that are free for educational use. Though there aren't a huge variety of images, they are all school appropriate. The website is also very easy to use, and free of pop-ups.

Free Clip Art by Phillip Martin

Martin's images are very cute and colorful. Though primarily for elementary to middle school audiences, there are categories in a number of different subject areas, including language arts, science, and social sciences.  Language Arts highlights include grammar, questioning skills, punctuation, research skills, word analysis, and writing.

Free Clip Art Now

This site has a good number of images spanning a number of categories, including education. There are also images from popular comics that would appeal to children of all ages. Appropriate for all ages.

Wise Gorilla Clip Art

This site contains images from a number of unique and cultural categories, such as hieroglyphics, Braille, native Americans, and Japanese art. This would be very useful for reading stories from other cultures, or including historical figures in documents. Appropriate for all ages.

Clipart ETC

This site contains a huge amount of clips art, free for use by students and teachers. The site is maintained by The Educational Technology Clearinghouse. The images are displayed in categories, and are available in multiple sizes and formats. Appropriate for all ages.
