Safety on MySpace

 

Objective – Students will learn to safely create an online MySpace profile.

 

Introduction – MySpace is an online community that lets you meet your friends' friends.  You can create a private community on MySpace and you can share photos, journals and interests with your growing network of mutual friends!
 

MySpace is for everyone:

  • Friends who want to talk Online
  • Single people who want to meet other Singles
  • Matchmakers who want to connect their friends with other friends
  • Families who want to keep in touch--map your Family Tree
  • Business people and co-workers interested in networking
  • Classmates and study partners
  • Anyone looking for long lost friends!

Activity – Visit the website MySpace.  Using the safety information you learned from the readings, create an online profile.

Assignment – Once you have completed your MySpace profile, write a 250 word summary of what you learned.  Also, you must have your parents visit your MySpace profile.  Your parents must then sign your summary regarding this assignment.

Submission – Email me your link to your MySpace profile.  Bring in the signed copy of your summary to class.
