Clipart Web Sites
My selection of the following sites is based on accessibility, free usage, appropriateness, and relevance to subject matter.
Clipart ETC: An online service of FloridaÕs Educational Technology Clearinghouse This site provides free downloads of black and white educational images. From different styles of architecture to animals, from mathematical drawings to literary characters, this site includes illustrations of just about any subject you can think of and appropriate for all ages. Canterbury Cathedral
Othello and Iago
Wikimedia Commons This site is a wide-ranging resource, including photographs and illustrations. In my exploration of the site I did not discover any inappropriate images but younger students would definitely need close supervision—the range of topics is incredibly broad and the site accepts user contributions of material (like Wikipedia). As with any internet site the expanse of available information is incredibly valuable as long as it is critically evaluated. Downloaded images are free which makes it attractive but it can be a bit complicated to navigate. Dates visited: 6/24-6/25/09 http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

Geoffrey Chaucer
Tech4Learning-Pics4Learning This educational site provides access and permission to use a wide-ranging collection of images donated by students, teachers, and amateur photographers. Fairly easy to navigate, this site seems appropriate for all ages. Dates visited: 6/24-6/25 http://www.pics4learning.com/
