Frontpage

Objective: The student will be able to create a query to search the Internet to find pages provide tips on using Frontpage

Objective:  The student will be able to design their own web page using Frontpage

Introduction:  Designing web pages is easier than ever.  With the new programs that are out, web pages no longer require a person to be a master computer programmer.  Instead, everyone (with a little guidance) can create their own web pages.  Programs such as Frontpage and Dreamweaver provide users with a friendly, and easy to use forum that creates web pages.  These programs and others like them provide tutorials for users who are new to them.  There are plenty of web sites out there that also help to guide users through the programs.

Activities: Before beginning, please visit the site below to learn about what frontpage is and how it works.  Click on the demo to see the different things Frontpage is capable of doing.  http://www.microsoft.com/office/frontpage/prodinfo/demo.mspx

Create a query that will help you find sites that provide help and references for Frontpage .  Search through the different sites and find the top ones that provide the type of guidance you need.

You may want to try different search queries like "Frontpage help", "Frontpage tutorial", "How to use Frontpage", or "Frontpage templates".  I had good luck with each of these queries.

Assignment:  Create a web page using Frontpage.  The web page should include the use of tables, the addition of pictures, the inclusions of links, and the modification of background and font colors.  In addition, create a list of 5 annotated sites that you feel are an excellent resource to use when learning Frontpage.

Submission:  This assignment should be posted to you file on the server for grading.  Add this assignment to your index page as well.
