THE CELL CYCLE

Have you ever wondered how you were able to grow so much since you were born?  Well the answer is simple, you grew because of the cell cycle.  Without the cell cycle, cells would not be able to grow and divide, and life itself would not be able to develop out of an egg and sperm.   The cell cycle is one of the essential parts that allow life on earth as we know it to exist.

What is the cell cycle?

Visit The cell cycle and mitosis tutorial (click on the next button to visit the page about mitosis) and The Cell Cycle  to learn about what the cell cycle is and what it encompasses.  Once you have read through the information go to Mitosis Stages to view actual pictures of cells undergoing mitosis.  After visiting all of these pages, you are to create a graphical representation that will visually explain the cell cycle.  Be sure to include all the phases necessary and label them properly.  Also include in you cell  cycle where mitosis takes place, and provide a diagram that represents a cell during of each stage of mitosis.  You must include a written description explaining what happens during each phase of the cell cycle and each stage of mitosis.  Please use the space provided below to do you work in.  You may attach your explanations on a separate piece of paper if you need to.
