But why do we vote? Who gets
to vote? What should we know before we vote?
You will find the answer to
these questions and much more when you visit these sites...
Voting
The Democracy
Project
Once you are done reading this
background information we are going to
hold a class vote so you can see first hand how the voting process
works.
Mission...
We know that there is always two
sides to every story. But who is telling the truth?
We are going to read 2
stories.
Each shares the characters' points of view.
- First we will read the
original story of The Three Little Pigs to get their side of the
story.
- Then we are going to
read The True Story of the Three
Little Pigs: By A. Wolf to get the wolf's side of the story.
After the stories are read, you are
going to cast
your vote for the one that you believe.
- Illustrate a picture of
who you are voting for
- Place your ballot in
the ballot box
- Be sure to pick up your
I voted sticker
- When the voting is
complete, I will count the ballots to see who has one.
Now, come up to the carpet to hear
the stories... and let the voting process begin!
