We
know that Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible, and we know what was going
on in America when he wrote it, but what else do we really know about the man
behind the scenes? Is he
even still alive? For this
activity, we will delve a little deeper into the man behind the play, and
perhaps discover a little more about who he really is and what else might have
prompted him to write The Crucible.
To begin, read what PBS has to say about Arthur Miller (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/database/miller_a.html).
When you are finished, work in partners to construct a brief question and answer handout about Arthur Miller’s life. Be sure to include at least one question that references inspiration for The Crucible.
