Webquest

Introduction: Isn’t it amazing to look at pictures or paintings of ancient times? Everything seems make believe! It would be nice to travel back in time to see what history was like. As we conclude our unit on ancient civilizations, we will have fun learning about the specifics of three civilizations. Each group will use the following websites to complete the task to present in front of the class.
Task: Since we can’t travel back in time to an ancient civilization, we will take the time to make a fictional travel service. The class will split into groups with the topics of Byzantine Empire, Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt, and Ancient China. Your assignment is to make a brochure displaying your group’s civilization containing:
1) Information from the websites about your civilization
2) Find appealing pictures for your brochure and don’t forget it may need to be small
3) Create a brochure that makes traveling back in time to an ancient civilization appealing. Include various facts such as different sites, customs, landscapes, types of people populating the civilization and anything else you find interesting. You have to choose ideas that are appealing because brochures aren’t big! If you want, offer a day-by-day guide for a tour.
4) Be prepared to present your brochure in class. Act like you are trying to get your classmates to take your travel service!
