    This web link bibliography contains sites that deal with the class Modern World History. The class is for high school students and covers the time of Renaissance and Reformation to the Cold War.  The websites are for both the students and the teachers. 

Renaissance

Renaissance, The Elizabethan World--This website contains primary sources with information of how people lived, the laws of the times, a specific treason trial, and other numerous Renaissance sites.  Date visited- 2/7/05.

Virtual Renaissance--This site has three main pages.  The first two are directed toward students, giving them a tour of Renaissance Europe with pictures and interactions with a factious character.  The second page contains information where the student can choose a character they would like to be and read about them.  The third site is for teachers that gives them a lesson plan where they can utilize the website.  Date visited-2/7/05

Age of Exploration

European Explorers--This website can be used as a quick reference to find explorers.  The site is organized very well with the grouping of explorers from their native country.  This site also contains teacher resources including lesson plans and student activities.  Date visited-2/7/05

The Enlightenment
Age of the Enlightenment--A plan website with great information on the Enlightenment.  This site can be used to accompany the textbook and lecture notes.  Directed more towards the teacher.  Date visited-2/7/05

Age of Enlightenment Review-- This site is originally used for exam review but can be used for class review.  This site is very well organized and easy to follow.  Can be useful for both teachers and students.  Date visited-2/7/05

French Revolution

British Newspaper Coverage of the French Revolution--This site contains newspaper articles from the London Times covering events from the French Revolution.  Good use of primary source.  Date visited-2/7/05

The Industrial Revolution

BBC-History-Industrialization--This site contains very specific information about the Industrial Revolution including workshops, changes, day in the life, and cartoons from the industrial age.  This is a good resource for teachers and students. Date visited-2/7/05

The Industrial Revolution --This site contains information about workers, health, women and child labor in the industrial revolution.  Also included are the debates involving the House of Commons.  This site is informative for students. Date visited-2/7/05

Ottoman Empire

The Ottoman Empire: 1350-1918--This site has a chronology of events of the Ottoman Empire.  The website is easy to read and be very helpful for students in finding events that established and lead to the downfall of the Ottoman Empire. Date visited-2/7/05

The OttomansThis site has information about the major players in the Ottoman empire including sultans and profiles of them.  This site also has albums of artwork and chronology of events. A useful glossary to terms is also included. Date visited-2/7/05

BBC-History World War One--This site includes in depth information about British soldiers in World War I.  Original pictures are also shown.  The site also includes a virtual tour of trenches.  The website is suitable for both teachers and students. Date visited-2/7/05

BBC- History of World War Two--This site has in depth coverage of World War II.  Events of the War are explained specifically in a friendly layout.  There is also a large interactive area with multimedia.  Good for students to work with.  Date visitied-2/7/05

British Submarines of World War II--The site includes all submarines used in World War II with a detailed explanation and picture.  Also includes historical background of the submarine.  The setup is easy to follow and can be useful for students.  Date visited-2/7/05

The Cold War

The Cold War Museum--This official site has thorough information about the Cold War.  Exhibits from the museum are included as well as trivia games.  This is a good resource for both teachers and students.
