2. In the case of this scenario, there are no copyright infringements.
These are direct links to the Letterman's web page and therefore are not
a violation to the copyright law. If there were sections of these web
pages copy and pasted onto the school site and the school takes credit for
them, there would be a problem. In this case, there is no copyright infringement.
The principal should not tell the student to remove this link unless he
feels that it is inappropriate to have the link of the school site.
4. Mrs. Urdvary is in violation of copyright laws because all music is
copyrighted. Accessing it for free, downloading, copying, and redistributing
are a major violation of the copyright law. She should not be
distributing copies to her students. If she bought the CD and played an excerpt
in class, this would not be a violation. The students would still be able
to do the assignment and legally.
