Citing Internet Sources
The Internet is now a great source for students to learn about information pertaining to class. They may now use this information in papers so it is important to teach them how to cite Internet sources properly. There are three forms that can be used; Modern Language Association (MLA), American Psychological Association (APA), and Chicago. After reading about the main two, MLA and APA, I began to favor MLA.
While in college, I found that many teachers preferred Chicago style of format a vast majority used MLA. The only students who used APA were the psychology students. I think it is important for secondary students to learn MLA to help them site sources. The best site to help students become accustomed to MLA style is The Write Source. I found this site to be very friendly and easy to follow. I think it will also be beneficial to students because it was a great explanation of the MLA form along with many examples of how to site various sources. The site is great for students who are just learning how to cite sources.
