                                                                                    WORKSHEETS!!!!

Every middle-school teacher knows that worksheets are the key to successful lessons, but we do not always have time to create one before class.  The following sites will help alleviate some of the stress associated with creating worksheets!!!

Create Your Own Worksheets:

These sites are great because they allow you to fill in an easy to follow template and within minutes you have an original worksheet!

Worksheet Generator: This site allows teachers from all subjects and grade levels to create various worksheets.  There are easy to follow templates and instructions.  Teachers are also given the option to save their work on the site.

“Saving my work online sure has helped organize my file cabinet!!”

Puzzle Maker: Instructional puzzles can be constructed here by parents, teachers, and students.  The puzzles can be saved on the site and are easily accessible.  This is another site that is suitable for all grades levels because the teachers fill in their chosen information.

Graphic Organizers: This site offers numerous suggestions for graphic organizers as well as providing images of each organizer.  Teachers can select which organizer would be appropriate for their subject and instruction level.

Timeline Creator: This site, which is offered by edHelper.com, allows teachers to make timelines.  This would be the perfect place for social studies teachers to visit to create the perfect timeline with whatever information they feel necessary.  The edHelper.com home page provides many other numerous benefits, but one must be a member to enjoy all of the perks.  Membership is not free.

Online Worksheets: This site allows teachers to follow an easy template to create online worksheets.  This can be used for all subjects, but is recommended for upper-level eight grade classes who can handle being online without extreme supervision.

Map/Flag Sites:

These sites all link to worksheets with maps or flags.  While there is no creation done here by the user, the maps/flags are all well drawn and provide a plethora of activites!

Map of the USA: The map on this link is black and white.  It could be printed out and enlarged or selected portions could be used depending on the lesson.  The map is in black and white with no writing on it at all.  It would also be perfect to use for a map quiz.

Map Analysis: This site provides an easy to use worksheet for analyzing maps.  It can be paired with practically anytime of map due to the nature of the questions.  This would be a great evaluation to use with upper-level eighth grade students who will already know the terminology used on the document. http://www.archives.gov/digital_classroom/lessons/analysis_worksheets/map.html

13 Colonies Map: This map is perfect for middle school teachers giving instruction on the original thirteen colonies.  The map is a black outline of the colonies with a space available to label each colony by name.  The worksheet itself is very simple so it can be used with any grade level; however, for the eighth grad students, the blank map could be modified by the teacher in order to use it to show crops grown or the path of the Revolutionary War.

Flags of the USA: This site leads teachers to images of the flags of the fifty states and flag images that are important to US history.  Teacher click on the chosen flag and information and/or a quiz pops up.  This would be perfect for middle school students learning about the state flags.

“Learning with maps helps me know where places are!”

Rubric Creator:

Rubrics are easy charts which let students know the criterion with which they will be evaluated.  This site allows teachers to create simple, yet thorough rubrics.

Rubric Creator: There is no point in spending hours with a ruler or using an archaic computer program to make rubrics anymore!! This site will do it for you! From creating rubrics that deal with notebooks checks to those that handle class presentations; this site has a template for you.  All the teacher has to do is select a template and then fill in the requested information.  It is one of the most simple tasks to complete and the rubric can be as complicated or as simple as you would like!
