Elective #4 Newsletters
1) The first newsletter that I selected is from a teacher-friendly educational site connected with Public Broadcasting Systems. This newsletter describes upcoming television programs relating to my subject of the American Civil War. This is an excellent resource for assigning outside of school homework activities that are not pen and pencil based. I think that educational television is an excellent way to provide my students with the stimulation they need and the knowledge I want them to acquire. It can be found on the following website:

2) This newsletter subscription can be found on a website about Civil War studies by Smithsonian Associates. It is an excellent source of information about local tours, events, and seminars available for both teachers and students. In addition, the newsletter contains original articles, essays, and biographies of several different people living in the times of the Civil War. It also includes exciting trivia contests for my students. It can be found on the following website:
