Tracing Passover Customs

Introduction: Well done super sleuths!  You have inquired, searched, asked, and probed for a list of new (and exciting) Passover customs which you have never heard of before.  Now, your mission is to discover their origin.  Do whatever it takes, and don’t come back without a complete report!

Activity:

You are to keep a journal list of the customs you have come across through inquiry and research.  You can choose any four customs and trace them back to their source.  Visit the websites listed below for some ideas and complete the chart to answer the following: what is the custom? What country did it originate from? Why it was established?  In your journal, make sure to record this information from the person who informed you of any unique customs you already have listed.

Beyond:

Interview a grandparent (doesn’t have to be your own) on his/her experiences of Passover growing up. Record any special memories or tradition that is notable.
