Introduction

 

Students will be able to compare and contrast different women’s lives during the Civil War.

Information

 

Students will search on the Civil War Women website to read first hand information about women and girls and the significant events of their lives throughout the war.

Activity

 

Read through the diaries, letters, memoirs and other documents of 4 different women and fill in the chart below.

Questions

What was her name?  Which side was she on? Where did she live?  How did she feel about slavery? (if applicable, defend your answer)  What was one significant event in her life?

Extension
