v      Personal Information This website provides a concise description of the important generals who fought for the Union and for the Confederacy in alphabetical order (labeled separately).  This site does not provide lengthy biographies, but it does give important historical information that can be used for your project.

v     Civil War Battles Summary This website contains a summary of all the battles according to state.  The victories are color coded according to the two sides.  Each battle contains information such as the location, date, important generals, estimated casualties, and more.

Women in the War:

 

v     Photos This website provides students with a myriad of photos of women who lived during the Civil War.  Many are famous for their contributions, and some are more of the common folk who are lesser known, but of no less importance.  This is an interesting site to view in order to get a better understanding of the role women played.  This site also includes links to books that can be read on the topic.

v     Diaries This site includes several original diaries and primary sources donated by families of the actual women and girls who wrote them.  This is a direct link for the students with real problems, fears, feelings, and emotions of the era.  It also includes many photos and prints that are accessible.

v     More Original Accounts This site also contains several original documents and publications from women of all ages.  This site is less aesthetical than the previous one, but still informative and interesting.  Great for primary source.
