Create a web Site using



Objective—Students will articulate good design features for creating web sites and post these results on a class discussion board.
Objective—Students will create a web site using Microsoft Office FrontPage.
Introduction—A web site can be a powerful way to communicate with many people. You may have created a web page or perhaps an entire web site before. You have certainly viewed both on the Internet. As you have probably witnessed, there are well-designed and poorly designed web sites. In this activity, you will discover what makes a web site attractive to a user and some pitfalls to avoid when designing web sites. After all, the goal of a web site is to have people visit the site. Web sites can be created by many different methods. Currently one popular method is FrontPage, a part of Microsoft Office Suite. FrontPage can be used not only to create a web site but also to manage the site once it is created and posted to the web. To demonstrate your understanding of basic web site design principles, you will design a two-page web site using FrontPage.

Assignment—
Part I—Which of the above design tips and principles did you think were the most valuable for an attractive web site? Create a list of your top five tips and explain why you believe they are essential for a well-designed web site. Post this list to the class discussion board as a basis for future discussion.
Part II—Create a web site for a topic in one of your classes using FrontPage. Your site should include at least two pages linked together and must include special features of your choosing like tables and graphics. You should attempt to apply most, if not all, of the positive design tips you listed in Part I of this assignment.
Submission—Post Part I of this assignment to the class discussion board as a basis for future discussion.
Post Part II of this assignment as an html file to our local server, create a link to the file and email your instructor a hot link to the assignment.
