Activity 2: Author  Study

Sometimes when we read a story it can remind us of something that happened in our lives. Sometimes a story will be so interesting that we will want to learn more about the author. For this assignment you will get to learn more about one author. You will become the expert on your author and share your information with the rest of the class.

For this project click on this web site http://www3.sympatico.ca/alanbrown/kids.htm and choose an author that interests you. It can be anyone, but make sure you read all the requirements of this assignment so you can pick a great author to study!

Requirements for this Project

You will create a poster about your author.

Please include all of the web addresses that you visit somewhere on the poster (they can be little but they nee to be on there). Also please include a picture of the author you choose to study, or 2 pictures of the books they have written, these must be printed off the web, if you don’t know how to do this see me or another adult.

Your poster must have 10 facts and or interesting information about you author. Five of these facts must be, their birth date, what state they come from, how they became an author, one book that they wrote (only the title, you don’t need to read it) and Why you choose this person. The other five facts are up to you, you can write anything you like.

This poster will be due in 2 weeks. For tonight’s homework, please complete the worksheet found by clicking here to help you get started. I will collect the worksheet tomorrow.

You can visit other web sites after you choose you author from the website I gave you. Here are some to help you if you need it.
