Education Software

 

Objective:

      Students will explore a variety of educational software programs available on the web and evaluate which programs would be best suited for their personal use. 

 

Introduction:

     As the amount of technology seen in our schools continues to increase, there are software programs available that may help to ease some of the mundane everyday tasks associated with teaching.  There is a large quantity of this type of software available on various websites throughout the Internet.  Using your own experience with any programs that your school may use and through searching the Internet you will explore these different software. 

 

Activity:

     Develop a query that will help you to find different different types of software and explore the features that they offer.  When looking for different software, keep in mind the type of tasks that you feel would benefit or be made simpler by the use of technology. 

 

Assignment:

1. Make an annotated list of three different software programs that you feel would be beneficial to you or your school. 

 

2.  Write a paragraph explaining the features of each program you choose and what areas would be benefited by it.

Software Search Process:  This is a website that offers a five step process to researching software with tips on how to research, preview, evaluate, purchase, and use educational software. 

 

Scholastic Technology Guide:  This is a website that has a brief review of some different technology software and it also offers links to websites of the different software to get a more detailed overview.
