Exploring Comparing and Ordering Fractions


In this unit you will be comparing and ordering fractions. You will visit the the following website:

Objective:

While at this website you will use the online Fraction Bar in order compare and order the fractions from least to greatest and greatest to least, you will also answer a brief constructed response.

  • Click on Internet Explorer 
  • Click on Favorites and Double Click on the link listed above.
  • Follow the instructions to manipulate the online fraction bar to solve the problems below. Be sure to clear the bar after each problem.
            Click on Add Bar
            Click on the Bar to Select it
            Click on Fractions - this will depend on the the denominator of the fraction
            Select either the "Left Arrow" or the "Right Arrow"  to show representation of the fraction
            You can either select: DEL or CLEAR if you make a mistake
            You should have all 3 fractions in the box to see the comparison of each
            *Under Show Fractions As:  make sure FRACTIONS is selected to show your answer represented in fractions          
  • Write your answers in the spaces provided
  • Once you have finished with the website, move back to your seat and complete the Brief Contructed Response.
