Introduction

Starting your day with a good breakfast in the morning is very important.  What happens when you miss breakfast, why is breakfast important, and what is a good healthy breakfast?  In this Web Quest you will find out why breakfast is the most important meal of the day and what makes a nutritious breakfast.

Your teacher has informed the principal that the students in her class have been tired, irritable and restless in the morning.  The students’ grades are dropping and they have poor attitudes about school and learning.  Your teacher is at her wits end and doesn’t know what to do.  You have been asked by the principal to put together a team of experts, a pediatrician, a dietician and a counselor to investigate the problem and help your teacher find a solution.

                                                                            The Task

  1. First, research sites on the Internet to learn about the importance of eating a healthy breakfast.
  2. Next, analyze the food pyramid and other health related sites to devise a 5-day meal plan for breakfast.
  3. Next, make a poster persuading your classmates to eat a healthy breakfast.
  4. Finally, from the research you gathered, you will create a slide presentation that shows why breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
