Citing Internet Sources

Citing Internet Sources
Citing internet sources
can be a difficult task for many students.
Which site would be most helpful to my students in citing internet
sources?
The following sites were
reviewed:
Skillman &
Kirby Libraries · Lafayette College · Easton, PA
http://ww2.lafayette.edu/~library/guides/cite.html
Write Source -
http://www.thewritesource.com/mla.htm
Indiana
University Libraries -

Classroom
Connect -

I found the Write Source
to be the best site to use for elementary students. This site was kid friendly and easy to
use. It had helpful tips and examples
for both MLA and APA Styles.
I also found another site http://www.noodletools.com/quickcite/citmag_online.html
that I feel would be very helpful to elementary
aged students and fun to use. NoodleBib was designed with elementary students in
mind. This site offers a teaching tool
that allows students to cite resources using MLA and APA formatted
citations. Templates are used and
examples for citing online magazine articles, online newspaper articles, web
pages, web sites, email messages, CD-Roms, etc. Students then type information onto a
template and click the submit button to view their citation.
The following resources were cited using MLA
Style.
Salwen,Peter. The Quotable Mark Twain. 2
June. 2003. 29 November. 2003 <http://salwen.com/mtquotes.htm>.
Nascar.com. 9 October.2003. 2003 Winston Cup Series Drivers. 29 November.

McKenzie,
Jamie. "Building Good New Ideas From Now On." The Educational
Technology Journal June 2001. 29 November. 2003. <http://fno.org/jun01/building.html>
