Internet Literacy

In the coming years, the Internet will be available 24/7 to anyone who can afford a small, fast, inexpensive pocket-sized device. Students will be able to access it at any time, from anywhere. Our job as educators, is to make sure that our students learn how to make good use of this amazing technology.

Internet literacy is a term that has become more important as the expectations of technology competence increase with today’s students. This website will describe the concept of internet literacy, examine the current issues relating to it, summarize two important facets of internet literacy; the development of searching and questioning skills, and the critical evaluation of information retrieved from the Internet.

Please use the links at the left to examine this issue further, and to view some of the activities and websites we have gathered that relate to Internet Literacy.
