Party Planning on a Budget        

Introduction:
Food shopping can be a real challenge on a tight budget, but you can make excellent food choices without purchasing expensive brand-name products. This activity will illustrate how it is possible to make good food choices for a party without breaking the bank!

Information:
You are having a birthday party and you are inviting 3 of your best friends to your house. Your parents have given you $20 to buy the food for the party. You have decided to serve pizza, carrots and dip, cola, and cake.  You will be using the website   , to shop for your party.  Since you and your friends love to eat, your task is to buy the most amount of food possible with the money you have been given. You will comparison shop, trying to select the least expensive food items, but still choosing food quantities which will satisfy your guests.
*** The food you select should already be prepared, you are allowed buy frozen pizza, but the cake should be baked.

Procedure:
1. Go to http://www.peapod.com
2. Click on the link, Groceries for your home.  (Do NOT create new user)
3. Click on the link, "Use Express Shop"
4. Type in the food you will be serving: pizza, carrots, dip, cola, cake
5. Click "Start Shopping"
6. Make choices about what to buy. Fill in the chart below to keep a record of what you buy.
