Mark your calendar for our July 19-20, 2008 Summer Conference at McDaniel College "Ready, Set, Go Write!"

Agents, editors, and writers galore! Guest agents are MICHELLE ANDELMAN of Andrea Brown Agency, STEPHEN BARBARA of Donald Maas Literary Agency, and LINDA PRATT of Sheldon Fogelman Agency.

Editors are MARTHA MAHALICK of Greenwillow, LYNNE POLVINO of Clarion, and AIMEE FRIEDMAN of Scholastic. Illustrator JEAN GRALLEY and Newbery honor winner CYNTHIA LORD and a slew of regional writers and illustrators will also be speaking.

JACK REID SCHOLARSHIP FUND: In memory of longtime volunteer Jack Reid, The MD/DE/WV SCBWI offers two scholarships (to a writer and illustrator) to attend a summer conference. Writers wishing to apply should send up to 10 pages of a work for children. Illustrators should send 3 or more photocopied selections of their work. A cover letter should accompany all entries, addressed to Shelley Sykes, P.O. Box 70, Arendtsville, PA 17303. Entries should be postmarked by June 01.
