What Is An EdTech Cabinet?

An EdTech Cabinet is the central component of our smart classrooms, containing equipment which allows faculty (and students) to connect to the Internet, make digital presentations, and show DVD/VHS media in the classroom.

Each EdTech cabinet offers:

  • a computer with keyboard and monitor (zip drive and CD drive)
  • an internet connection
  • a VCR/DVD player
  • an audio tuner
  • two remotes: one to the LCD projector and one to the DVD/VCR player

The equipment in the EdTech Cabinet is connected to an LCD projector. Except when noted, the computers run Windows with Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • To schedule the room, contact Diane Morris at 2263
  • To get a key to the cabinets, contact Elaine Simpson at 2710
  • For a demonstration of the equipment, contact Steve Kerby at 4686 or any member of the SWATT team.

NOTE:

The computer has a Zip Drive and a CD drive. The computer does not have a floppy disk drive.
