MODULE FIVE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this module, participants will have:

  • piloted their courses complete with at least one module
  • acted as peer reviewers for three other classmates' courses
kitchen counter, snacks, and a laptop
Course Pilots

This two week module is divided in two parts. Each one of you is asked to spend one week "teaching/delivering/facilitating/piloting" your course to three of your classmates, while also participating as students in your classmate's courses.

  • The week you are instructor, you are a student in one other course.
  • The week you are not instructor, you are a student in two other courses.

So you should be logging in regularly to two other OTL courses this week and two other courses next week.

Student G Student in Student B's and Student E's Pilot your course and student in Student F's
Student H Student in Student B's and Student E's Pilot your course and student in Student E's

Recognizing that just a week for pilot testing is an artificial set up and that not all courses are going to be the same (different audiences, different course designs, different pedagogies, etc.), we still ask that you treat this process as much like a "real" course delivery as possible--whether your role is that of a student or that of instructor.

In most cases, you will be asked to complete just one module. In some cases, it may differ slightly. But within the constraints of a week, when there are objectives, you are asked to meet them, and when there are assessments, you are asked to take them. But please, as student/reviewers, look at and review the entire course structure as best you can.

Our Discussion Boards for the next two weeks focus primarily on evaluations and reviews of the courses.

So. Login. Look around. Participate in the multiple pilots and become an instructor and/or a student. There looks to be some interesting classes.

This should be the fun part of the class! :-)
