Traces of the Berlin Wall Today:
Fotographische Spurensuche im heutigen Berlin

Join staff members from the Goethe-Institut Washington, Germany’s partner for culture and language abroad, on this photographic search for remains of the Berlin Wall in Berlin today. In this hands-on workshop, students will recreate the actual physical exhibition “Ikonen einer Grenzanlage,” currently on display in several locations in the USA, organizing photographs of remains of the Berlin Wall today and accompanying texts into thematic groupings. Students will discuss the relevant subjects and themes, learning new vocabulary and deepening their understanding of the Wall’s legacy in today’s Berlin. Students will then create original narratives to accompany the thematic groupings of photographs – in German. The recreation of the exhibition “Ikonen einer Grenzanlage” will be on view, including the new original narratives, for other students to view after lunch.

Workshop will be conducted in English and German.
