Hassouna Mosbahi

Hassouna Mosbahi was born in Kairuan, Tunisia in 1950 in a large Bedouin family. As a young man, he started writing stories. In 1968 he won the Prize of the Tunisian Radio. After a few years of study in Paris, Madrid and London, he moved to Munich, Germany in 1985 where he worked as a freelance journalist, literary critic, translator and author. For his first in Tunisia published collection of stories in Arabic and French, he received in the “Prix national de la nouvelle” of Tunisia in 1986 For his novel Rückkehr nach Tarschisch he received the Tukan-Preis of the city of Munich in 2000.
