Dramaturgy
For students planning to enter a Ph.D. or D.F.A. program in
dramaturgy, theatre history, or theory and criticism after graduation
Prerequisites:
- Theatre major/dual major/minor
- Two courses in dramatic literature/theatrehistory: Theatre of
the Western World, Contemporary Theatre, Modern American Drama
- Production experience
- Submission of a sample of written work
- Students must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA overall and a 3.3
GPA in the Theatre Arts Department.
Requirements:
- At least two additional courses in theatre history,
literature, or theory, including either Contemporary Theatre or
Modern American Drama
- Drama Workshop
- Two Dramaturgy Labs
- Teaching Assistant for Theatre of the Western World
- Internship in dramaturgy at a professional theatre
- Submission of representative written work in spring of junior
and fall of senior years
