Design

For students planning to enter an M.F.A. program in design after graduation.

Prerequisites:

• Theatre major/dual major/minor
• Stagecraft 1111
• Technical experience in college productions
• Submission of work demonstrating promise in the visual arts
• Students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA overall and a 3.0 GPA in the Theatre Arts Department.

Requirements:

• Two advanced courses in Design (spring of junior and senior years): Lighting Design, Set Design, Costume Design (or one advanced course and a Special Studies as Assistant Designer or Technical Director)
• Drama Workshop (spring of either junior or senior year)
• Two Production Labs in Design
• Teaching Assistant for Stagecraft 1111
• Professional experience in the summers
• Portfolio review in spring of junior year/fall of senior year
• Preparation of graduate school portfolio (senior year)
