An internship in theatre arts involves "work-place" experience in the theatre or a closely related enterprise, for example, in the areas of production management, stage management, design and technology, acting, directing, box office, promotion, casting, dramaturgy, children's theatre, etc.

Each student must arrange his or her own internship, with the advice and consent of a Theatre Arts professor. Brochures and other materials advertising internships can be found in Ron Miller's office and/or posted on the bulletin boards in Alumni Hall.
One internship credit is awarded for every 39 hours of work.

Credit is available for work associated with a play produced at McDaniel College under departmental guidance. Credit is available for acting, directing, design, technical or production work, etc. A minimum of 39 hours must be devoted to the production ; a faculty supervisor is required. A maximum of one credit is available per production; no more than six credit hours count towards graduation. Theatre majors, dual majors, and theatre minors must complete theatre practicum work according to department specifications as listed under Major Requirements elsewhere in this catalogue.
