Research and Teaching Interests

For the past two years I have been working on a book on contemporary French women novelists. In particular, I have been studying the introduction of the fantastic in their works.

Due to my field of specialization, I tend to teach most classes dealing with modern and/or contemporary literature, whether they are Senior Seminars or not. In the last couple of years, I have taught topics as varied as "the French Cinema", "Autobiography in France", and "la littérature française contemporaine: une prière athée". At the Intermediate/Advanced levels, I have taught classes on the French-Speaking World and the European Union. From year to year, I have also taught beginning French, which brings me up and down the hallway with all kinds of equipment!

Hobbies

I jog all year round, and I love gardening and cooking.
