Major Course Requirements

The English major combines broad coverage of the history, themes, and genres of literature written in English with analysis of and practice in the use of our language. The knowledge along with the practical and analytical skills attained through the dedicated study of literature and language have enabled McDaniel's English majors to successfully undertake graduate study and a variety of career paths, including teaching, journalism, business, library science, social work, government service, public relations, and law.

Basic English Major (48 hours, 16 of which must be 3000-level courses)
