Thomas Roberts, '94, who now co-anchors CNN's Headline News program from 4
to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, spoke on campus Oct. 27. A large crowd
heard his talk, "Trust Me: From the Hill to CNN's Anchor Desk." Roberts, who
earned the first Minor in Journalism at then-Western Maryland College in
1994, mixed humorous anecdotes about his climb up the broadcast journalism
ladder with serious advice for students interested in pursuing the field.
His well-received talk was sponsored by the English and Communication
Departments and he was introduced by McDaniel journalism professor Terry
Dalton, who created the Minor in Journalism at McDaniel in 1992.
