All About Kevin McIntyre

Personal:
I was born and raised in Albert Lea, a small city in southern Minnesota. I left Albert Lea in 1990 to attend Grinnell College, a small private college in central Iowa. I graduated from Grinnell in 1994 and began graduate studies in economics at the University of Virginia that same year.  I completed my Ph.D. in economics in May 1998 and took a job at RFA Dismal Sciences, a macroeconomic forecasting and consulting firm located in the Philadelphia area.  I returned to academia as an economics professor at McDaniel (formerly Western Maryland) College in the fall of 2000.

The Grinnell College alumni website has posted a profile of me.  Click here to read it.

Interesting (maybe, but probably not) Trivia:
- My wife and I are semi-professional international travelers.  To date, Diane and I have been aboad together sixteen times and have visited fourteen countries:  the U.K. (incl. England, Scotland, N. Ireland), Ireland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium,  the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Romania.
- I asked my wife to marry me in London.
- I have SEVEN tattoos and am willing to admit it.
- I used to play Division III football at Grinnell.  For 3 1/2 years, I was the center on one of the worst teams in the history of college football (our record was 2-33-1 for my 4 years there).  For the record, I was an all conference athlete.
- I studied in London for five months in the spring of 1992.  It was there that my interest in international economics was born, when I successfully speculated on the pound to the tune of about $15.
- I claim to have attended cooking school in Sicily, but have never actually been there.  (The closest I got was Rome.)
- I have been skydiving and have the pictures to prove it.

Here's a picture of me when I was a 3 year old hottie back in 1974 (I have obviously gone completely downhill since then):
