Honor Code

See new version of Honor Code printed this summer; Q and A also new; and your Student Date and Guide Book. I will follow the ideas promoted and voted upon by students last semester.

The Honor Pledge is required on all assignments and exams. "I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this piece of work, nor have I knowingly tolerated any violation of the Honor Code."

If you observe any violations of the Honor Code in this course, you may report it to me, to student members of the Honor and Conduct Board, or Faculty Advisor. Any reported to me will be handled as voted on by the student body. I will turn information over to the Provost. The Provost will evaluate the information and refer the case to the Honor and Conduct Board if a hearing is warranted.

I will uphold and adhere to the decisions of the Honor and Conduct Board.

I will do whatever I can to eliminate temptation during in-class exams. If this includes proctoring exams, I will do so.

Video Projects

Pick a parasitic organism (or group) and build a "movie" of still shots etc. Pick a group of up to three other people to work with. Find current information from the scientific literature -- one (1) minimum reference from Journal of Parasitology, Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology, or other references available to you from my own personal journal library. You will be learning how to 1) use digital capture techniques from the compound or dissecting microscope; 2) how to use a video editing software package (Avid Cinema etc); 3) a graphics editing software package (Photoshop); 4) and archiving storage formats (CDs).

A detailed outline of your movie is due Nov. 9. A list of the shots you have included, the reference you have used, and any additional visual materials included should be attached.

The last lab will be set aside for viewing the videos. You are limited to 30 min for the video (practical memory limits will probably keep it short!) to allow for four group presentations.
