The image above is a photomicrograph of a gregarine found in last summer's research efforts. These are single-celled organisms that live in the intestine of arthropods, usually insects.

One (University of Nebraska-Lincoln) is about gregarine research by Dr. John Janovy Jr. and members of his lab. Another is about gregarine research at Peru State College conducted by Dr. Rich Clopton and his students; Rich carried out his Ph.D. in Dr. Janovy's lab (where I did my master's degree).
