The Science of Ecology
In class today we will discuss two papers...the first is on the history of ecology and the second 'set' deals with our first research topic - the serpentine ecoystem. Please make sure you have read both before class on Wed morining!

Introduction to the serentine barrens.
In class we will first discuss how ecology evolved, the difference betwee ecology and environmental science, and what ecologists actually study. Then if we have time I would like to continue with an introductory discussion of te serpentine ecosystem which we will first visit this afternoon.
