Unlike Lycopodium, Selaginella is: heterosporous - microsporophylls producing microspores, and megasporophylls producing only megaspores. The vegetative structure (left) may look familiar- it grows in our local woods.. Below note the mega and microsporophylls contained on the strobilus : |
